Lion Cub Scouts (Kindergarten)

Kindergarten is the perfect time to start an adventure and the Lion rank is where it all begins.

Designed specifically for kindergarten-age youth, the Lion program gives your child their first taste of what Scouting is all about. Through six required and twenty elective Lion Adventures, young Scouts explore, create, play, and discover, all while building the foundation of what it means to be a Scout. Every activity is age-appropriate, fun-focused, and designed to spark curiosity in kids who are ready to experience the world beyond the classroom.

One of the things that makes Lions uniquely special: parents are part of the journey too. Every Lion Scout participates alongside an adult partner, making this one of the few programs where you're not just dropping your child off, you're in it together. Pack 631 provides guidance and resources to make sure both you and your Scout feel confident and supported every step of the way.

If your kindergartner is curious, energetic, and ready for something they'll look forward to every week, Lions is where they belong.

Tiger Cub Scouts (First Grade)

First grade is a big year and for Scouts who are ready for more, the Tiger rank delivers.

Tigers jump into Scouting with both feet. Through six required Tiger Adventures and a range of exciting electives, first-grade Scouts explore outdoor skills, community involvement, and creative challenges that make every meeting feel like an event worth showing up for. The program is hands-on by design because at this age, kids don't just learn by listening. They learn by doing.

Like the Lion program, Tigers participate alongside an adult partner, making this a shared experience for your child and your family. Many of our Tiger families tell us this year becomes one of their favorites, not just because of what their Scout accomplishes, but because of what they experience together.

Earning the Tiger Badge is your Scout's first major milestone in a journey that can carry them all the way through high school. It's the moment they stand in front of their Pack, badge in hand, and realize that effort and commitment actually pay off.
At Pack 631, our Tiger dens are led by parent volunteers who are passionate about making this first full year of Scouting one your child never forgets.

Wolf Cub Scouts (Second Grade)

Second grade is when the adventure really starts to take shape and the Wolf rank is built for exactly that moment.

Wolf Scouts dive into hands-on activities that challenge them to think, create, and work as a team. Through six required Wolf Adventures and a range of exciting electives, Scouts explore outdoor skills, community involvement, and creative challenges that make every meeting something to look forward to. The activities grow with them, building on the curiosity sparked in earlier years and channeling it into real skills and genuine accomplishments.

Earning the Wolf Badge isn't just a milestone on a chart. It represents a Scout who showed up, put in the work, and proved to themselves that they could do hard things. The pride on their face when that badge is earned, in front of their den, their leaders, and their family is something parents remember long after the night is over.

At Pack 631, our Wolf dens are led by dedicated parent volunteers who bring energy, creativity, and a genuine investment in every Scout's experience. Your child won't just be a face in a crowd, they'll be known, encouraged, and challenged to be their best.

Bear Cub Scouts (Third Grade)

Third grade is when Scouts start to hit their stride and the Bear rank is designed to meet them there.

By this point, your Scout knows what Scouting feels like. They've earned badges, built friendships, and discovered what they're capable of. The Bear rank takes all of that and turns up the dial. Through six required Bear Adventures and a range of electives, Scouts tackle more challenging outdoor skills, deepen their sense of community responsibility, and take on creative projects that require real effort and real thinking.

This is the year many Scouts surprise themselves. The activities demand more, the expectations grow, and so does the confidence that comes from rising to meet them. Earning the Bear Badge isn't handed to anyone, it's built, one adventure at a time.

At Pack 631, our Bear dens are led by parent volunteers who know how to strike the right balance between fun and challenge. Your Scout will be pushed in the best possible way and they'll have a den full of friends making the journey alongside them.

The Bear year is also a natural moment for parents to step deeper into Pack leadership. If you've been watching from the sidelines and wondering if now is the time to get more involved it usually is.

Webelos Scouts (Fourth Grade)

Fourth grade marks a turning point and the Webelos rank is where Cub Scouting takes on a whole new level of purpose.

Webelos Scouts are no longer just learning the basics. Through six required Adventures and a range of electives, they're developing real outdoor skills, taking on leadership roles within their den, and beginning to see themselves as the experienced Scouts they've become. The program is more demanding by design because these Scouts are ready for it.

Earning the Webelos Badge is a significant milestone, representing years of effort and growth that have been building since day one. At Pack 631, our Webelos dens are led by parent volunteers who understand that this year is about preparing Scouts for what comes next; with challenge, encouragement, and a den that feels like a team.

Arrow of Light (Fifth Grade)

The Arrow of Light is the highest rank in Cub Scouting, and earning it means something.

Fifth grade Scouts in the Arrow of Light program are the leaders of the Pack. Through six required Adventures and a range of electives, they sharpen outdoor skills, take on greater responsibility within their den, and prepare for the transition into Scouts BSA. Every activity this year carries weight because these Scouts know the journey it took to get here.

The Arrow of Light Badge is the only Cub Scout badge that transfers with a Scout into Scouts BSA, making it one of the most meaningful achievements in all of Scouting. At Pack 631, we make sure every Arrow of Light Scout crosses that finish line feeling proud, prepared, and ready for what comes next.
